You’ve maybe even thought, “I heard somewhere that caring for my skin is easy and is good for my overall well being. This is a great idea! I’m doing it!”
But then you realize you don’t know where to start.
You: “No problem! I’ll just Google it!”
So you google “skincare for mature skin”
Google: “Here are thousands and thousands of sites and videos. Good luck.”
Some of the sites look intriguing, but are they legit? As you dive in you find yourself going down the rabbit hole of endless articles and videos, still unsure how to tell the truth from fiction.
I’ve been there too.
It’s overwhelming and super frustrating.
Why is this so difficult? We’re just looking for a simple solution to a common problem. Can we even call aging a problem? It happens to all of us!
Why does wanting to look after our skin as we mature have to be so hard?
(Don’t even get me started on the ridiculous practice of featuring women in their 20s advertising “anti aging” products).
Which leads me here …
- I believe all women, regardless of age, deserve to feel good about their appearance.
- I also believe that it shouldn’t be overwhelming to find simple solutions that work.
- Furthermore, I believe that companies providing beauty products should be transparent with their ingredients as well as their production and sustainability practices.
That’s why I’m here. If you are looking for simple solutions to beauty questions or concerns, you’ve come to the right place.
My goal is to provide reliable, current and relevant information. Everything from tips & trends to product information and reviews. Specifically meant for those of us with mature skin!
I don’t think any of us want to be bad at makeup and skincare. But getting good at it can be a daunting task. I understand when women tell me they just don’t know where to start.
My skin is changing as I’m getting older and I find myself searching for amazing products, tips and advice too! So let’s do it together!
Researching and testing beauty trends has been a guilty pleasure of mine since I was a teenager. I used to try all the hot new tips in Teen magazine (anyone else put lemon juice on their hair and hang out in the sun for a couple hours to see if it would bleach the colour out?).
More recently I took my passion for beauty and operated a franchise specializing in makeup, skin and hair care. After having kids I wanted to stay home to be with them. I’ve been able to do that and still pursue my love of the industry via running a business out of my home, helping women find products and routines that work for them.
This has proven to be a truly rewarding experience. It is empowering to watch a woman smile at her appearance, and feel good about how she looks.
Imagine if our daughters and granddaughters could witness their mothers and grandmothers looking in the mirror with acceptance, affirmation and confidence in their own appearance.
What impact could that have on those younger women in our lives?
This is the real reason I am here.
I want every generation of women to look and feel beautiful.
Hence the creation of Generations Beauty; a place for mature women to find information and connect with others.
Sorry, gen z, this isn’t about you, it’s about us and recognizing that we have a place in the world of beauty too. (Don’t feel bad gen z, you get plenty of attention from every other company out there).
